Logan's back at school for the first time in a few days. He'd gone to the dance last night, so he figured he should make an appearance, if only to see the lovely Miss Jackie.
She's not at school that day, and Logan tries to squelch a feeling of acute relief. She's hot, but a handful, carrying enough emotional baggage to open her own luggage store without any help from him.
The bell rings, and Logan heads to his locker, trying to keep his mind blank. It's best to think about Milliways-things as little as possible when he's in Neptune, he's found, or he'll start trying to talk about Lilly in a way that would land him in a crazy house.
It's harder to do than usual, after his conversation with Lilly last night.
He's so lost in thought that he doesn't notice Veronica's approach.

"Logan. Logan-! Hey!"

"If it isn't Nancy Drew," he says. "Coming to violently pursue me again? You can hold off - Jackie's not here today."

Cue the cute, friendly blonde. "Well you should know a thing or two about being fucked up, right?"

He smirks. "You say that like it's a bad thing."

Hands raised. "But really, as much as discussing the impressiveness of your boy-parts truly makes my day, I really need to know. You didn't see Wallace at all after the dance? And Jackie didn't mention anything?"

He thinks back on that night, which is admittedly fuzzy. "Didn't see Wallace, at all. I was busy, you know. And Jackie was more interested in my collection of booze than in discussing a skinny basketball player who can't take a joke."
Granted, that same joke had him pretty pissed off, but Veronica doesn't need to know that.

(How many guys do you expect to want only you?)</small>
"Well, if you hear anything, let me know, okay?" She sighs, considers, then goes ahead and tells him. "He's missing. He didn't come home after the dance."

Stupid to have expected any kind of sympathy. This isn't the old Logan. This is the Logan who shuts down community pools and burns messages of hate into grass fields.

With that, he slams his locker shut and shoulders his bag, pushing his way through the crowd to get to his next class. He's got more important things on his mind than Wallace Fennell, who's probably just taking a mental health day.
Of course, his dramatic exit is considerably less dramatic, and not an exit at all, since Veronica is in his next class.

But Veronica of course has no choice but to follow him, shaking her head as she pushes through the crowds. The bell rings and she quickens her pace.

They're late, so the door to the classroom is already shut, but Logan figures sliding in won't be too hard.
He opens the door, prepares a charmingly apologetic grin...and steps into Milliways.
